Six professors; two research, extension, and professional staff (REPS) members; three administrative staff members; and two students received this year’s Gawad Chanselor of UP Diliman (UPD), the annual recognition bestowed by the UPD Chancellor to outstanding members of the constituent university.

“I am very happy because this event gives UP Diliman a chance to honor our faculty and staff who provide exemplary service in spite of our wages. And perhaps this is the best example of what UP service is,” Chancellor Sergio S. Cao said during the awards ceremony on February 28 at Malcolm Theater.

… The event also paid tribute to members of the Diliman community who recently passed away. They are Prof. Monico Atienza of CAL; Dr. Victoria Bautista of the National College of Public Administration and Governance; Dr. FG David of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy; Prof. Emmanuel Gregorio of CoM; Prof. Ogie Juliano of CAL; Dr. Aurora Perez of the UP Population Institute; Prof. Romeo Quieta of the College of Social Work and Community Development; Dr. Robinson Soria of the College of Education; Prof. Carlos Valino of the College of Fine Arts; and Prof. Rene Villanueva of CAL.
