  1. I remember those photo sessions Dad imposed on us every so often. There was never a perfect picture, where everyone would be decked out in one’s best attire, with a full grin. Eventually there would be someone impatient with the whole process, or tired from exertion, or too hot from the heat…but Dad would persist, choosing the locations, choreographing the scenes… Of course now I appreciate Dad’s foresight. the imperfect pictures captured a segment in time that we can never return to. Our short memories forget the date, the time, but the photo serves as a trigger for all the remembrances of a youth passed. Now i’m already older than Mai when this photo was taken. My eldest, Remo, would be a year younger than Guids, right foreground. Vito would be Ferri’s age, to Mai’s right. And Vyan is 2 years older than Avi, playing with the flowers in the foreground. Rene is as old now as Dad was then. How time really flies!
