a clipping from the Philippine Collegian in the 1960s,
the photo was taken at at the Listening Center
(where Dad served as an ‘avant-garde DJ’ as we liked to call it)
– lo and behold, there also was my Mom, standing beside him in the photo!

I remember this p.m. I met Romy Ong, and he asked me where I was going. I said, “To the Listening Center.” He asked if he could go with me, and I nodded, Yes. We were picking out some records when this photo was taken, but we never knew. I only realized it when I saw this picture in “Your University”, a UP publication. Rod San Diego (the photographer) must have given it to Den. And Den must have taken it, tossed it with his stuff, unaware he was in it. He was as surprised as I was that our picture was taken!
Afterwards, Den would say that he was looking at my legs, though you can see that I had on a dress that reached to mid-calf, the fashion then. Of course, I was looking at the LPs…

Btw, the proper bibliographic entry is:
Consuelo Damaso, “Pioneering in Library Science,” Your University: A Review of What the University is Doing, I, 1 (October, 1961), p. 36.
The notation you see here (July 27, 1966/The Philippine Collegian/p. 5/ XXI, 1) is for a poem by Den.
