    i think you’ve pretty well covered it, except for milagrosa rice, smetana’s moldau, and having his back scratched.

  2. Watching cock-fighting on TV. Imagining if he could have had that vice.

    Tamales from Pampanga. Also tapang kalabaw, catfish, puto seko, and the famous pancit luglog!

    Having us kids memorize long lines of nonsense words, training daw (Guids still know some of these).

    His trusty umberlla/walking stick.

    Buying fruits, peanuts, corn, etc., and feeding us til we’re bursting (let’s not forget the Hungry Jack pancakes and the oatmeal porridge)!

    Marlon Brando (he just finished watching MB’s movies on DVD).

    Camote and saging na saba, boiled.

    Yellow shirts.

    His grandchildren: Remo, Barbie, Vito, Mogen, Vyan, Megan, and now, Donita!

    Whistling (did I tell anyone that perhaps a month ago I heard someone along our street whistling with the same timbre? I dared not run out and check who it was. But all this while I’ve never heard anyone whistling here).
